The Doo-lander

Description

A “Doo-lander” is a Scottish name used to describe the old fashioned Balmoral or Tam O’ Shanter bonnets worn by the soldiers in the early to mid 1900s. It was suggested that the hats were so large that a Doo (pigeon) could land on them. Hence the name Doo-lander.

The tune is a hornpipe in the round style and it can also be styled as a reel, with the parts repeated and variations included in parts 2 and 4.
